Bio: 

Dr. Saumen Mandal is currently working as an Associate Professor at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, where he joined in 2015 as an Assistant Professor. He was a gold medalist in his M. Tech. for being the topper in the institute. Dr Mandal has one granted US Patent (US Patent 9680097 B2), six granted Indian Patents and two Indian Patents at the filed stage. Dr. Mandal has authored/co-authored 67 peer-reviewed international journal papers and > 60 International conference presentations. He has guided 7 PhD students and 34 M.Tech. students till date. He received “Gandhian Young Technological Award, 2014”- from Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions, India. Dr Mandal is also awarded with “Early Career Research Award” and “Core Research Grant” from Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) in 2016 and 2022, respectively. He has received 9 best paper/poster awards at international conferences to date.
